POLICIES

  • CENTURY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MEMBER PROTECTION POLICY

    This policy outlines Century Champions League's commitment to creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all members, including players, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, and spectators. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, bullying, abuse, or misconduct. 

    This policy applies to players and teams, coaches, umpires, scorers, and officials, volunteers and administrators, parents, guardians, and spectators, contractors, sponsors, and service providers. It applies at all venues, training sessions, competitions, social events, travel, and online (social media, team chats, etc.). 

    We will: 

    - Treat all people with dignity, fairness, and respect. 

    - Provide equal opportunities for all participants. 

    - Promote a culture free from harassment, abuse, bullying, and discrimination. 

    - Protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of all members, especially children and vulnerable people. 

    - Respond promptly and fairly to complaints and concerns. 

    Examples of prohibited conduct under this policy include: 

    - Sexual harassment, intimidation, or assault 

    - Discrimination based on gender, race, age, disability, religion, or sexual orientation 

    - Bullying (verbal, physical, or cyber) 

    - Victimisation or retaliation against anyone raising concerns 

    - Abuse of power or inappropriate relationships 

    All members must (1) behave respectfully and responsibly at all times (2) follow the Century Champions League Codes of Conduct and Policies (3) report any inappropriate behaviour or concerns about safety or welfare (4) respect decisions made by umpires, officials, and league organisers. 

    League Officials must (1) act immediately on any reports or concerns (2) maintain confidentiality and fairness in investigations and (3) protect anyone making a complaint from victimisation. 

    Complaints can be made verbally or in writing to the Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) Tanya Comino at tanya@centurychampionsleague.com. All complaints will be treated seriously, confidentially, and without bias. Wherever possible, issues will be resolved informally first. Formal complaints may lead to mediation, disciplinary action, or referral to external authorities (e.g., police, Sport Integrity Australia). No one will be disadvantaged for making a complaint in good faith. 

    Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension or expulsion from matches, teams, or league activities and notification to governing bodies or authorities (if serious) 

    The welfare of children and young people is especially important. All members must comply with our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy and mandatory Working with Children Check (WWCC) requirements. 

    This policy will be reviewed annually or after any serious incident or complaint. 

    Everyone has the right to participate in cricket in a safe, fair, and respectful environment. Let's work together to uphold these standards at Century Champions League. 

  • CENTURY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

    This policy sets clear expectations for the use of social media by all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and staff connected to Century Champions League. It protects individuals, promotes positive engagement, and safeguards the league's reputation. 

    This policy applies to all official league social media accounts and (2) personal social media accounts when referencing or discussing the league, its teams, players, sponsors, or activities. 

    The policy seeks to promote the following key principles; (1) Respect: treat everyone with dignity and respect online, just as you would in person (2) Positivity: promote the league in a positive way (3) Privacy: protect confidential information (e.g. player injuries, internal decisions), and (4) Responsibility: you are responsible for what you post, share, comment, or like. 

    Expectations for Participants: 

    Do not post anything that is discriminatory, defamatory, abusive, threatening, or harassing. 

    - Do not engage in arguments or respond negatively to criticism online - report issues to league management. 

    - Do not share private league matters, match disputes, selection decisions, or team strategies. 

    - Always seek permission before posting photos or videos of minors (players under 18). 

    - Support and celebrate team and player achievements. 

    Only authorised personnel may post from official league accounts. Content must be professional, accurate, and aligned with the league's brand values. 

    Breaches may result in disciplinary action, including: (1) a warning or formal apology, (2) suspension from matches, events, or activities or (3) removal from the league in serious cases. 

    Tips for Safe Social Media Use (1) think before you post, would you be happy for it to be on the front page of the newspaper, (2) when in doubt, ask your team manager or league official before posting, (3) protect your personal accounts with strong privacy settings.

  • CENTURY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE EXTREME WEATHER POLICY

    This policy protects the health, safety, and wellbeing of players, officials, volunteers, and spectators by managing risks associated with extreme weather during Century Champions League competitions. This policy applies to all matches, training sessions, and official activities conducted under Century Champions League Competitions. 

    The welfare of participants always comes first. Play must not proceed, or must be suspended, if conditions pose a risk to health or safety. Decisions should be made early, based on objective information (e.g., weather warnings, temperature readings). Umpires and match officials are authorised to delay, suspend, or abandon play when required. 

    Heat Guidelines 

    - Temperature 31°C-37°C: Monitor players closely; implement extra drink breaks (min. every 30 mins). Temperature 37°C-40°C: Consider shortening matches, extending break times, or suspending play. Above 40°C: Matches and training must be suspended or cancelled. 

    - Humidity must also be considered. Use the "Feels Like" (Apparent Temperature) if available. 

    - Additional measures (1) mandatory drink breaks and shade access (2) encourage players to wear hats, light- coloured clothing, and use sunscreen (3) rotate fielders - regularly to reduce heat stress. 

    Thunderstorms and Lightning Guidelines: 

    - Cease play immediately if lightning is seen or thunder is heard within 30 sec of lightning (the "30/30 Rule"). Participants must seek safe shelter (not under trees, near poles, or in open spaces). 

    - Play must not resume until 30 minutes have passed without lightning or thunder. 

    - Poor Air Quality (e.g., Bushfire Smoke) Guidelines 

    - If the Air Quality Index (AQI) is over 150 (Poor or worse), matches must be postponed or cancelled. 

    - If AQI is between 100-150, monitor players for signs of breathing difficulty; reduce match duration if needed. Sources for AQI: Local Environmental Authority websites or official weather apps. 

    Wet Weather and Dangerous Ground Conditions: 

    - Play must not continue if the field becomes slippery, flooded, or otherwise unsafe. 

    - Umpires must inspect and assess ground conditions regularly during wet weather. 

    Roles and Responsibilities: 

    - Umpires and Match Officials: Primary decision-makers on match-day weather safety. 

    - Competition Manager: Provide support and communication around cancellations/postponements. 

    - Coaches and Team Managers: Monitor players' wellbeing and report any concerns. 

    - All Participants: Follow directions promptly and prioritise safety. 

    - Weather updates and decisions will be communicated via Official Channels: e.g., Email, WhatsApp group, Website, Social Media as early as possible. 

  • CENTURY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE POLICY

    Century Champions League is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all children and young people involved in our cricket activities. We have a legal and moral duty to protect children from harm and ensure their wellbeing while participating in our programs. 

    This policy applies to, players under the age of 18, coaches, managers, and team officials, volunteers, administrators, and staff, parents, guardians, and spectators as well as contractors and service providers. 

    We will (1) prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people at all times (2) create a child-safe culture that supports participation, fairness, and inclusion (3) actively prevent abuse, exploitation, and neglect (4) respond quickly, fairly, and appropriately to any concerns or allegations (5) empower children and young people to have a voice in matters that affect them. 

    All adults involved in the league must: 

    - Treat all children and young people with respect, fairness, and care. 

    - Act as positive role models. 

    - Listen to and take seriously any concerns raised by children. 

    - Avoid any situation that could be misinterpreted as inappropriate (e.g., being alone with a child without another adult present). 

    - Use positive, supportive, and encouraging language. 

    - Never engage in rough play, inappropriate physical contact, or sexualised behaviour with children. 

    - Never provide alcohol, tobacco, or drugs to minors. 

     

    We require (1) Working with Children Checks (WWCC) for all coaches, officials, and volunteers working with players under 18 (2) reference checks for new coaches and volunteers. (3) clear expectations about behaviour and reporting obligations outlined during induction. 

    All concerns, disclosures, or allegations of child abuse or inappropriate behaviour must be reported immediately to the Child Safety Officer, Tanya Comino tanya@centurychampionsleague.com.au We will (1) treat all reports seriously and confidentially (2) report matters to the police, Child Protection, or Cricket Australia's Integrity Unit as required (3) protect whistle blowers and reporters from retaliation. 

    Important: If a child is at immediate risk, call 000. 

    We encourage children and young people to (1) share their ideas, concerns, and feedback (2) know their rights, including the right to feel safe and be respected (3) identify trusted adults they can turn to if they feel unsafe. 

    All league staff, volunteers, and officials must complete (1) Child protection training (e.g., Play by the Rules Child Protection Module). Regular refresher sessions to stay updated on best practice are also encouraged. 

    This policy will be reviewed annually and after any serious incident. Feedback from players, parents, and staff will be considered during reviews. 

    Child Safety is Everyone's Responsibility. Let's work together to keep cricket safe, inclusive, and fun for all. 

  • CENTURY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CODE OF CONDUCT

    This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and staff involved with Century Champions League. It ensures that cricket is played and supported in a safe, respectful, and fair environment. 

    This policy applies to players, coaches and team staff, umpires and match officials, volunteers and administrators as well as parents, guardians, and spectators 

    All participants must: 

    - Respect the spirit of cricket - play hard, play fair. 

    - Show respect to teammates, opponents, officials, and supporters at all times. 

    - Follow the rules, regulations, and spirit of the game. 

    - Accept umpire decisions without dispute. 

    - Never engage in abusive, offensive, or discriminatory language or behaviour. 

    - Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants. 

    - Represent the league with professionalism on and off the field. 

    Players must (1) compete to the best of their ability while upholding fair play (2) refrain from sledging, excessive appealing, or any form of gamesmanship (3) avoid the use of banned substances or performance-enhancing drugs (4) notify the league immediately of any injuries or conditions that could impact their participation safely. 

    Coaches and officials must (1) set a positive example in behaviour and attitude (2) provide feedback in a constructive, respectful manner (3) prioritise player welfare, development, and enjoyment over winning at all costs (4) uphold the integrity of the game at all times. 

    Parents and spectators must (1) encourage participation and effort rather than winning (2) applaud good performance from all teams (3) never criticise players, umpires, or officials during or after matches (4) refrain from entering the field of play unless authorised. 

    Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in (1) verbal or written warnings (2) suspension from matches or league activities, and/or (3) expulsion from the league for serious or repeated misconduct. 

    All incidents or concerns must be reported to Tanya Comino at tanya@centurychampionsleague.com.au who will manage complaints confidentially and fairly.
